Can I bring my kids to my tattoo consultation or appointment?

Our shop provides an environment suitable for adults only; please be sure to make childcare arrangments for the duration of your appointment.

-How does the sun affect my tattoo?

Remember, the sun is BAD for your tattoo! Whether it is new or old, if you want your tattoo to look nice and heal properly keep it out of the sun. A sunburn on a new tattoo can cause a lot of problems; it will dry out your skin and could cause a scab resulting in irreparable fading and scarring. Your new tattoo will take much longer to heal completely if you expose it to the sun unnecessarily so please wait until your tattoo is completely healed before spending time in the sun or a tanning bed. Make sure that you use a good quality, high SPF sunblock on a fully healed tattoo (never put sunblock on a fresh tattoo).”

-Can I get a tattoo if I'm sick?

You’re going to need your strength and white blood cells to heal a fresh tattoo, so getting one done when your immune system isn't 100% is a bad idea. It’s also very inconsiderate to bring your cold into the tattoo shop and risk getting the artist or other clients sick. If you have an appointment call and rebook for when you know you’ll be feeling better.

-What should I do to get ready for my appointment?

Wear something loose and comfortable that won't rub against your fresh ink. Never drink alcoholic beverages within 24 hours of your appointment as the alcohol can still be in your blood within that time frame and thin your blood. Bringing a snack and drink along is always a great idea.

-How old do I have to be to get a tattoo?

You must be at least 18 years old and we require government issued, photo ID. If you’re 17 years old we require government issued, photo ID with written parental consent. We will not tattoo anyone under 16 years of age with no exceptions. It is also under the artist’s discretion to tattoo you, regardless of parental consent.

-Do I need a consultation?

Generally consultations are reserved for larger tattoos, cover-ups, re-working existing tattoos, & for tattoos for anyone under 18 years of age. Consultations are offered & provided and have no charge. Consultations help prevent miscommunication between you and the artist. so be sure to bring as much reference material to your consultation appointment as possible (on paper, on your phone, in a book, photographs, etc.) so that we know as much about what you want to do visually as possible.
